hiking

Rhett has been asking me for a little while now if we could go on a hike. He tells others that he likes to hike in the mountains. So I was feeling a little guilty that I hadn't taken advantage of any of the fall weather to take my kids on a hike.
Berk suggested that today we go on a hike. I am so glad he did.

Seconds after we told the kids of the plans they were ready to go with their backpacks on waiting at the door.

Mo got a hold of the camera and took about 100 pictures, no joke. She would say, "oh this is so beautiful, I don't want to forget it."
They collected many rocks to bring home. I made them carry them all in their own packs. ha
On the ride home I could hear the kids talking about their plans for their rocks and then I hear Mo say, "this was the best day ever".

Those are some good pictures and what fun. When I was younger, my dad would make me carry my own rocks too, needless to say, I didn't walk very long because of how heavy the rocks got, so they eventually ended back on the ground. Sad.

I love this! Beautiful pictures and sentiments about your day. Hiking -- one of the many things I love about where we live. Maybe, after reading this post, I'll even take the kiddies up to the hills before this gorgeous weather ends.

It seems like the best most fun times we have had as a family are the times we go and do something and it doesn't even cost a thing. Just spending time together sounds like a great relaxing day.

How fun for you. I love that we live so close to the beautiful mountains. My kids remember fun family things like that the most.

I love the blog entry. I love hiking (or walking these days!) in the hills! That is great that your kids want to go, take advantage of it while you can.
Your blog is so fun.

I didn't know you guys had a blog so I'm adding you to mine, it's exciting to see what everyone is up too.

I went on this hike with Tafton! It was a good time!
