This is for you, Mrs. Jewels Petersen.  I haven't blogged for over 10 months now. I've been thinking about blogging again, but that is all I've done, think about it.  Well, I have been requested by a good friend, (whom I miss) to start blogging again.  So here it is........ the first blog post in ten months and hopefully it won't take me that long to post again.
This book I got for Christmas has gotten much use. I am really in love with all the patterns.  These fingerless mitts are the 3rd project I have made from the book. So beautiful, and have really challenged my knitting skills. I'm almost done with one, and hopefully the second one will knit up quicker, now that I know what I'm doing. Maybe I will finish in time to store them away for next fall. haha

Friday I was doing my grocery shopping and I got a phone call. I recognized the number being the school, and wondered who was sick.  They lady on the phone told me she was sorry to inform me that Rhett had broken his arm.  I told her I was at the grocery store. She said its pretty bad and that she was told not to look at it.  She said leave your groceries and come.  I was next to a store employee and told her of my phone call and handed her my cart and ran out the store.  Frantically I called Berk on my way and told him.  He told me to call my niece Bre.  This is her line of expertise and she works for an orthopedic surgeon.
Long story short I picked him up from the school and took him to the instacare and later connected with Bre at the hospital where an othopedic surgeon (a friend of Bre's doctor) met us there to set the bone into place.  Talk about stressful.  They had to sedate him to set the bones back into place.  All went well and we meet with the Doc on wednesday to get a hard cast on.   Here are some pictures of the event!  I couldn't believe how tough Rhett was through the whole ordeal.  He remained very calm the whole time. I just love that kid.

ice rain

This winter, we have had some pretty crazy weather.  Extremely cold temps, like it stayed 10 degrees for weeks. Lots of inversion, and snow. And one day, we had ice rain.  Dangerous, and kind of a pain, but looking back, it was pretty cool to experience.  Our driveway was a sheet of ice and it took the kids 40 minutes to walk home from school.  Like a good mom, instead of trying to help them get home, I seized the opportunity and filmed the experience.

2013

I have had a goal of blogging for some time.  I've had a hard time figuring out how to get pictures off my camera or phone and honestly I haven't tried super hard.  But now I found that you can pull them strait from your phone on blogger. I was very excited.  So here is my goal for 2013.  Blog more.  I would love for anyone to hold me to it.   A few other goals:
exercise regularly and have regular family home evenings.
On a side note,  Rhett had a sledding party Saturday.  Ella was sad because she said she has never been sledding anywhere but in our back yard. So I took her sledding while Rhett was at our party. A little one on one with Ella.

On Saturday, I had a one on one with Rhett.  We  hiked to the first look out. It has been really cold but it was  fun. I really enjoy getting outside in the snow. It makes January a little more bearable.  And great to get some alone time with each of my kids.  I always get one one one with Luke, So MO is next.

California 2012

We got back about a week ago from California.   This trip was a little different, without any theme parks.   We flew down and stayed in this beach house.  It was a nice relaxing change from the fast paceness of Disneyland.   What you see is pretty much what we did.  Nice to have Luke nap in a crib while the older kids played on the beach.  We tried one day to go to Legoland but it poured rain, so we went to the Legoland aquarium.  Again a much slower pace activity we all enjoyed.
