Basement news

Man, I am sad that I haven't been blogging. I've hated the look of my blog and wanted to find the time to sit down and make it cute or at least decent. And as you can guess, I haven't found that time. I have been a bit overwhelmed with life at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I am very blessed just very busy.

Berk and I built a shed in our backyard all by ourselves. It was given to us and of course we are suckers for cheap and or free things. I learned how to measure and cut wood. And my confidence grew when my husband relied on my help and my opinions on the best way to do things I thought only he knew the best way.

All this work and building is ultimetely for one goal. TO FINISH OUR BASEMENT!!!

First a very large pile of dirt had to be removed, then a platform for the shed to go on. And then figure out how the shed goes back together.

After all that we cleaned out our basement which has remained in its original state from the remodel 6 years ago. Actually its gotten a bit worse. Its been a dumping place for items we don't really know what to do with.

I'm happy to say that after many late nights and hard work we have comletely emptied out the soon to be family room and bathroom downstairs. And if any of you were lucky enough to be invited into our basement, you would understand how big of a deal that is. I've spent many trips me solo up and down our stairs cleaning.
The basement has now been framed, and Berk is almost done with the electrical.
I can hardly wait to send the kids downstairs to play. So that gives you an idea of whats been going on. Once I am done working downstairs I crash in my bed.

This is SO exciting Amy! I can't wait for you to have a basement. I'm so glad you updated. I didn't know you had all of this buzz going on. What a perfect Christmas present. I hope you will be on the home tour again next fall so we can all come see your masterpiece!
